A note about the books reviewed on this site: A new law was recently enacted that has been causing some confusion among online reviewers. For clarity's sake, all reviews on this site are the opinions of the reviewer, based on a careful reading of the work. Books are furnished to reviewers in a variety of ways, including review copies from the publisher, the author, and/or publicists. Other books are borrowed from libraries, received as gifts from friends and family members, and purchased in bookstores, both online and bricks & mortar.  Reviewers stand by their reviews as their own opinion, regardless of the source of the book being reviewed. Any questions about a review or source of a book may be directed to the editor of this site via email.

Got books?  I do - and I'm giving them away.  Check out the WIN BOOKS page to see how you can win a copy of A NIGHT TOO DARK by Dana Stabenow. Check out the Win Books page for all the details.  Then check out the Win Thrillers page to find out how you can win signed copies of these fabulous thrillers: The Last Surgeon by Michael Palmer; Last Snow by Eric Van Lustbader; The Little Death by P.J. Parrish; Original Sin by Allison Brennan; Raining Cat Sitters and Dogs by Blaize Clement; The Traitor in Us All by Robert S. Levinson; City of Dragons by Kelli Stanley; Deadly Seduction by Cate Noble; Cemetery Road by Gar Anthony Haywood; and Jack: Secret Circles by F.Paul Wilson! If you haven't looked yet, the Best Books of 2009 list is here! Check out my favorites, and those of the reviewers on this site.

If you live in South Florida, or are planning on visiting, please check out the Florida UpdateLots of great author signings coming up like Lisa Scottoline, Adriana Trigiani, Joy Fielding, Andrew Gross and many more. And if you're interested in learning more about Florida authors, check out the new Florida Authors Wiki.

I put a little time into FaceBook, please add me as a friend if you haven't already! Feel free to follow me on Twitter. Don't forget MySpace and CrimeSpace, I'm on there too.  And Good Reads. And LibraryThing, which is probably the only one really worth investing any time into - it's a place to create a catalog of your books, a personal library if you will.  You can keep it private, or share it and see who else reads what you read.  It's completely fabulous, free if you want to limit the number of books you catalog; 200 books are free.  Or very reasonably priced to go hog wild - list as many as you want for $10 a year, or the best deal of all, $25 for a lifetime membership.  Only problem is I don't know where I'm going to find the time to keep up with it all...but I will.

Lots of new stuff in the BookBitchBlog -  Read about my day at BookMania, a fabulous day of meeting authors; read my guest bloggers like Kellie Stanley who is giving away a free copy of her latest book, CITY OF DRAGONS; guest blogger Barbara Delinsky, and lots more.

Looking for a gift for the reader in your life?  Consider visiting the BookBitch Online Store.  Get a T-shirt, tank top, coffee cup or even a bookbag like Janet did - then she had it signed by all her favorite thriller writers at ThrillerFest!

Welcome. I'm so glad you've found me.  I've had a life long love affair with books and this is my opportunity to pay homage to the written word.

This is a forum for any and all information regarding the printed matter bound between cloth or paper, or even read aloud.  I offer reviews -  lots of reviews - as well as lists of reviewers' favorite books each year, and links to various websites extolling the virtues and practicalities of reading groups, the publishing industry, writers, and booksellers. This is a constantly evolving work in progress.  I welcome constructive criticism, ideas, suggestions and/or feedback of any kind.

Peruse and enjoy!
